Birth of the Cool
Just because New York's heatwave has finally waved goodbye, doesn't mean there isn't still plenty of HOTNESS to be found...like at the Ft. Greene Artisan Market this Saturday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Once again yours truly, Persuede, and my partner in jewelry adventures, PamelaWeinstock, will be outside Ft. Greene Park on Dekalb Avenue, displaying our wares.
We've got sterling silver, gold, semi-precious and precious jewelry -- all handmade, all unique, all hotter than hot. Not to mention all the other local artisans (buy Brooklyn!), a delicious farmer's market and free, live music.
This Saturday at noon it's The Harlem Blues & Jazz Band, one of the world's most authentic swing bands. It stars veteran jazz and blues musicians whose roots reach to the classic period of the '20s and '30s. Together since 1973, these "originals" actually "jumped" at the Woodside and "stomped" at the Savoy with Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Count Basie, Lionel Hampton, Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, and other jazz greats.
So stop by on your way to brunch, coming back from brunch or while you're walking the dog and say hello, tap your toes and add your name to our guest book to receive 10% off your next jewelry purchase. How cool is that?
