A Feast Grows in Brooklyn

This Sunday, October 19th, come one, come all to the Brooklyn Flea and revel in New York in all her autumnal glory.

Persuede will be there, rain or shine, with my host for the day, Melody's Addiction, along with some of the most delicious food ever...honestly, I go to the Flea so I have an excuse to eat giant homemade huaraches, followed by fresh watermelon lemonade, Belgian waffles and maybe even an almond croissant made by a baker with a sexy french accent. Turns out butter is good for you. Who knew?

The Brooklyn Flea is at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, on Lafayette Ave. between Clermont and Vanderbilt Ave., open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. This weekend is the third week of the Fall Furniture Festival, with 6 very cool and varied designers on the Astroturf under the white tents when you walk in. All these folks emphasize eco-conscious materials, hands-on craftsmanship, and a little bit of Brooklyn pride.

And should you have little ones with you, the Hanson Place Child Development Center is having a rummage sale fundraiser at the Flea, to benefit its music and dance program. Expect loads of little people winter gear at stoop-sale prices--and plenty of parent-child mingling. They'll also have a face-painting station (from 10am to 1pm, $2), which is always a hit.

See you in the mix!

I always knew that buttah was not the enemy...I just did not know that I would love it so much on everything! I can always use junk jewelery to use on art projects...hollah at me!
