Day Eight

A color doodle. Scanner is broke, so had to take a picture. Lines are silver and everything else is, well, colorful. This is what happens when I'm stuck on an hour long conference call.

Day Three
Thing-a-day, February 3, 2011
I've had these gold-leaf papers for years, but didn't know what to do with them. I love how the orange and gold play off of each other, a flash of fancy against the plain newsprint beige paper underneath. The funny thing is that even though the paper is plain, it's soft to the touch -- a surprisingly tactile experience that adds another dimension.Anywho, I cut a couple up into different sized strips, and with a little twisting and a little tape, made these "fancy" ribbons. I think they'd look perfect on a gift wrapped in kraft paper and tied with a waxed cotton thread or twine. Voila!

Day Two
Thing-a-day, February 2, 2011. Is it too early to get excited about the fact that I haven't given up yet?
I made these earrings for a woman who wants to cultivate an air of quiet, dark glamour for a sohpisticated night out. They make me think of lights glimmering on the surface of night water. Black freshwater pearls and hematite mounted in 14k goldfill posts. Go gorgeous.2.01.2011
