Day Eight

Thing-A-Day, February 8, 2011

A color doodle. Scanner is broke, so had to take a picture. Lines are silver and everything else is, well, colorful. This is what happens when I'm stuck on an hour long conference call.

Day Six

Thing-A-Day, February 6, 2011

A change of pace from the earrings I've been making. I love the depth of this blue Lapis. It complements the gold beads and the golden Citrine most lovely, with a slightly bracing dash of lime from the Peridot. Definitely into the 14k goldfill chain clasp, with the extra Citrine, Gold, and Peridot charms, offering a couple of different ways to wear this multi-focal necklace. Blue is the color of my dreams.

Day Five

Thing-A-Day, February 5, 2011

A little more wishful thinking about Spring...

It may be too early for these, but since I broke out the pink and green yesterday, I figured I might as well go for broke. Citrine, Amethyst, and Green Agate hoops to ring around your posy. Go Gorgeous!

Day Four

Thing-A-Day, February 4, 2011, Wishing for Spring...

A wishful cluster of Watermelon Tourmaline -- sparkling greens and pinks -- swings on a sterling silver ear hook in a evocation of warmer times to come. Watermelon Tourmaline is thought to ease and soothe all issues of the heart. When I made these, I was hoping not only to call forth a time of seasonal renewal, but of personal growth as well. If I'm going to be wearing Spring, I might as well grow gorgeous....

Day Three

Thing-a-day, February 3, 2011

I've had these gold-leaf papers for years, but didn't know what to do with them. I love how the orange and gold play off of each other, a flash of fancy against the plain newsprint beige paper underneath. The funny thing is that even though the paper is plain, it's soft to the touch -- a surprisingly tactile experience that adds another dimension.

Anywho, I cut a couple up into different sized strips, and with a little twisting and a little tape, made these "fancy" ribbons. I think they'd look perfect on a gift wrapped in kraft paper and tied with a waxed cotton thread or twine. Voila!

Day Two

Thing-a-day, February 2, 2011. Is it too early to get excited about the fact that I haven't given up yet?

I made these earrings for a woman who wants to cultivate an air of quiet, dark glamour for a sohpisticated night out. They make me think of lights glimmering on the surface of night water. Black freshwater pearls and hematite mounted in 14k goldfill posts. Go gorgeous.

Day One

Thing-A-Day, February 1, 2011

Well, it's 11:37 p.m., which means I've just managed to slip in under the deadline. But I'm so excited about my first project...

Fireworks Multi-Gem Earrings:: A sparkling array of multi-colored gemstones on a handmade swoop of Sterling Silver make for a chic look that transitions well from day to night. Go gorgeous!
